The box below shows how many parishes have recevied permission from the Archbishop to use the Formation in Christian Chastity program. If a parish is not on this list, it may be in the process of receiving permission, or more likely is using the controversial Talking About Touching program.
"Parents are the first and most important educators of their children, and they also possess a fundamental competency in this area: they are educators because they are parents."
-Truth and Meaning of Human Sexuality #23
The Catholic Medical Association has confirmed what parents have known all along, "safe environment" programs are not the answer to protecting our children. A recent article in the Wanderer provides great analysis of the CMA report and the flaws with the current implementations of "safe environment" programs.
It has been almost five years since we came together to fight the "Safe Environments" programs in our archdiocese. Our group hasn't done anything for the last few years, but we keep this site with its information up for the benefit of others who may find it helpful.
You can now download the entire Formation in Christian Chastity curriculum from our website.
A woman reflects on her childhood experience of scenario-based abuse prevention programs, and why the didn't help her when she was being sexually abused.
Welcome to Primary Educators League! Thank you for visiting our site. We hope that you will find the information on this web site helpful as you review the "safe environments" curricula and consider your own parish's course for implementation of them. We especially hope that you will look carefully at the Formation in Christian Chastity program from the Diocese of Harrisburg, PA. Our experience is that parents find this program to be far superior to the others, and thus at least a dozen pastors have received permission from Archbishop Flynn to use FICC in their parishes and schools. You can download the entire FICC program from our site. It is 87 pages long in its totality.
We hope to keep you posted at the site regarding a possible luncheon for priests who would like to collaborate with others who intend to use or are considering using FICC. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you would like more information.
On behalf of the parents of Primary Educators League, thank you again and God bless you!
