SCORECARD
The box below shows how many parishes have recevied permission from the Archbishop to use the Formation in Christian Chastity program. If a parish is not on this list, it may be in the process of receiving permission, or more likely is using the controversial Talking About Touching program.

1. Why did the Archdicoese choose the Talking About Touching curriculum?
The decision to use the Talking about Touching (TAT) curriculum was made by Archbishop Flynn in conjunction with the Archdiocese Protection of Children and Youth Initiative. Questions about the selection should be directed to Sr. Fran Donnelly, B.V.M., director, Parish Life & Personnel at (651) 251-7742 or email cfm@archspm.org.
2. Can parents opt out of these programs?
Parents are able to opt out of these programs. However they need to take a proactive role, as they may not be made aware of this option unless they ask their school principal or DRE.
3. How do I find out if my parish is using this program?
Ask your pastor, school principal, or director of religious education which safe environment program is being used for grades K-4 and they should be able to tell you.
4. I heard these programs are all age-appropriate. Isn't that true?
The problem with terms like
"age-appropriate" is that they can have different meanings to different people. We encourage parents to review the curriculum available on this site and decide for themselves if they believe it is age appropriate.
5. What can I do to get an alternative program going in my parish?
Find other concerned parents in your parish and approach your pastor, principal, or DRE.
